  • Fundraising- we need fundraisers to keep our branch alive and working.  As we receive no government funding or grants, we must raise all the money we intend to spend on animal welfare in Walsall ourselves.  There are several ways you can help us.
  1. You can hold events such as coffee mornings or jumble sales.
  2. You can get involved in our organised events and dog shows.
  3. You could do a sponsored event to raise funds.
  4. You could create a standing order to branch and give monthly financial support.
  5. You could leave a legacy to the branch (must be to the branch rather than RSPCA or the finances would go to headquarters funds).
  6. Use the easyfundraising website (see link below) when you do your online shopping, and the companies you buy from will donate a percentage of your purchase to the RSPCA Walsall, if you select us as your charity, at no etxra cost to you. Shops include all major online stores and also train/coach tickets.

  8. Use the easysearch search engine and for every search you make, funds will be donated to the RSPCA Walsall if we are your chosen charity.

  10. You can donate part or all of your ebay sales to the RSPCA Walsall branch, and also bid on items that we list, by clicking the image below.

We welcome all fundraising ideas and if you would like to discuss any of the above with us, we'd be more than happy to have a chat with you about how you can help us to help the animals.
  • Fostering
  • - This is one of the most fundamental parts of the branch work. Without fosterers, there would be no way to take in any animals, as we don’t have a centre, kennel or cattery. Fostering is very difficult to outline, as it very much depends on the individual circumstances. People who want to foster dogs and cats really need to be home for the part of the day. This is only fair to the animals. You need to have had experience of the animal you will be caring for and have suitable accommodation. Usually fosterers do not live in rented accommodation, but we can work round that with permission of your landlord. If you want to foster, our fostering co-ordinator will visit you, and have a chat to see if fostering will suit you and your lifestyle.
If successful, you will then be able to start accepting animals into care. Animals are given a pre homing assessment by the fosterer to enable us to most suitably home the animal. Whilst in your care, animals will always need a trip to the vets. All animals leaving our care are microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. This may be something to consider before you apply, as you will need transport to get to the vets. If you foster an animal, you must accept that potential adopters will want to visit your house to see the animal. This will only happen after they have been home visited for your protection, and a member of the branch can be present to supervise, so you don’t have to be alone. This is usually a pleasurable experience as it is very rewarding to see an animal get a new owner.
The branch supplies all you will need such as food, cat litter etc. We also pay petrol costs if you need to take an animal to the vet, you just keep a record of your milage if you want to claim it back. Fostering for the RSPCA shouldn’t cost you a penny. We don’t just need people to foster cats and dogs, we need other animals fostering too such as rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and rodents. We also look for people who can take on farm animals such as hens and ducks etc.
Fostering is a highly rewarding thing to do. By adopting you can help 1 animal in need, by fostering you can help 10 times more in a year.
Like any charity one of our main priorities is raising money to keep our activities going. One of the main problems we face is that people think because we are the RSPCA, we have 'millions' of pounds. We are a local branch, and as such, we are a separate charity to the National RSPCA. We certainly do not have 'millions' stashed away! All the money we spend on Walsall animals must be raised by us in Walsall.
  • Financial Donations. There are several ways you can donate to our branch. One is to send a cheque to our postal address which you can find on our contact us page. Another is to set up a standing order to our account. To do this you would need to contact us directly by e-mail. If cash donation is best for you, then you can catch us at a local store collection and donate there.

You can donate directly to us by Paypal, which is a safe way to donate online. Which ever way you donate, THANK YOU.

  • Donate Pet Food. We are always grateful to receive pet food to feed our animals in care. Donations of pet food release funds to be used else where within the branch. We mostly need cat, rabbit and guinea pig food. Any dog food collected is forwarded to other branches for their dogs in care. You can either donate at a store collection, or a local shop in Brownhills (Lucy Wagtails 01543 373100) will accept it on our behalf.
  • Donate Fundraising Items. We are always looking for fundraising products or ideas. We need items to put on our tombola stall (need to be new or unused) or donations of larger items like teddies etc to put into a raffle. We kindly ask that all items are in good working order. If you feel you would like to donate items, please contact us directly on 01543 454571 or e-mail us.
