Special Appeals and Long Term Animals
The animals listed below are either looking for special homes due to a medical
or behavioural problem, or they have been in our care for a long time. Sometimes
animals are over looked through no fault of their own, its normally because of their
age or colour. If you feel you are able to give one of the special animals below
their forever home, please call us on 0845 272 3570 and leave a voicemail for us
to get back to you, or email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk.

Hector
Hector arrived in foster care at RSPCA Walsall in January
2012 as an unwanted pet with several other bunnies. Hector
Is a small netherland dwarf and is around 18 months. After
being with us a few weeks, we noticed Hector wasn’t
maintaining his weight . Hector was taken to our vets where
he was x-rayed. The x-rays showed a huge bladder stone.
Hector had major surgery to have the bladder stone removed
and he quickly bounced back from the operation.

Hector now has a diet low in calcium, this means he is fed a diet
high in hay, with certain greens and vegetables, with no
pellets/commercial rabbit food. Hector is a very happy little
rabbit who enjoys human attention, he is more than happy to be
handled and will sit whilst you fuss him. We are unsure If Hector
will need further veterinary treatment in the future, but his new
owners will need to be aware this may be the case. Hector has
been neutered and fully vaccinated, we would ideally like to
rehome him with a neutered female rabbit for comapny. Can
you offer Hector the home he desperately deserves?
